Rooftop Experience: The rooftop will feature a public space with a restaurant or café, offering stunning views of Canada Dock. A separate rooftop area will be available for workspace tenants, creating a unique blend of leisure and work environments.

The public consultation also covered plans for a new basement accessed from Surrey Quays Road, landscaped areas around the plots, and updates on the Prince of Orange Walkway. Detailed plans are now prepared for a new Reserved Matters Application (RMA) to Southwark Council, ensuring that the community’s feedback is considered in the final designs.

Bermondsey Development: Greystar’s Vision Realised

The Bermondsey Development is also progressing impressively, with Greystar Real Estate Partners securing planning consent for enhancements to the Bermondsey Biscuit Factory site. This build-to-rent development will significantly contribute to the area’s regeneration.

Additional Homes: The amended plans include 88 additional homes, increasing the total to 1,624 high-quality residences. This addresses the critical housing shortage in the area.

Affordable Housing: The development will see an increased provision of affordable housing, making it accessible to a broader range of residents.

Charter School Bermondsey: The new school building was completed in January 2024, facilitating the commencement of on-site works.

Community Benefits

New Community: Located in Zone 2, the development will offer a mix of rental homes, a secondary school, play areas, cultural and retail spaces, all integrated into the existing neighbourhood.

Public Spaces: Enhanced public spaces include a 115% increase in play areas and the addition of 75 trees, promoting sustainability and community interaction.

Engagement and Opportunities: Greystar has committed to collaborating with local businesses, residents, and community groups, driving footfall to the town centre and providing training and employment opportunities.
